AOI Mumbai branch, in association with the Department of ENT, P.D. Hinduja Hospital, conducted a CME on the occasion of World Voice Day. Highlights included a lecture and a panel discussion moderated by Dr Nupur Kapoor Nerurkar, with interactive participation from around 120 members.

Pune

MIMER Medical College, Talegaon, Pune celebrated World Voice Day with a patient education programme by speech and language pathologists. Awareness lectures were delivered by PG trainees for doctors and students.

Erode

To commemorate World Voice Day 2023, AOI Erode Branch in association with Sudha Hospitals, Erode organised a CME and workshop titled Voice and Larynx 2023 on 16 April 2023 from 10 am to 3 pm at D Wayfarer Inn, Erode.

Erode AOI President Dr Chenniappan delivered the welcome address. Dr S. Gopalakrishnan, Professor, MGMCRI, Pondicherry, and former Director and HOD, Department of ENT, JIPMER, Pondicherry, graced the occasion as chief guest and inaugurated the CME.

Faculty included the Laryngology Unit, Department of ENT, CMC Vellore — Dr Rita Ruby Albert, Dr Roshna Rose Paul, Dr Justin Ebenezer Sargunaraj, and Dr Sheth Meet Chetan — along with Dr Vidhyadharan S. (Head and Neck Centre, Chennai), Dr M.P. Kavin Kumar (Sudha Multi Speciality Hospitals, Erode), Dr Raghavi Vishnu Prasanna (Shri VAS Clinic, Chennai), Dr J. Sugaswaran (Sudha Cancer Centre, Erode), and Dr Roopak Vishakan Raja (Annai ENT and Head & Neck Centre, Erode).

Hands-on nasopharyngolaryngoscopy partners were Olympus, Pentax and Ambu. About 80 participants attended, including 15 postgraduates. The vote of thanks was given by CME Organising Secretary Dr M.P. Kavin Kumar. Tamil Nadu Medical Council granted one credit hour for the CME.

World Voice Day was celebrated by the Department of ENT, NKPSIMS, Nagpur in collaboration with AOI Vidarbha. Speakers included Dr Gauri Kapre Vaidya (Neeti Clinics, Nagpur), Dr Bhagyashree Bokare (Associate Professor, ENT, GMC Nagpur), and Dr Kiran Kulsange (Assistant Professor, ENT, NKPSIMS). The occasion was graced by Dr Kajal Mitra (Dean), Dr Vilas Thombre (Vice Dean), Prof. Dr Nitin Deosthale, Prof. Dr Vivek Harkare, and Dr Samir Chaudhari (President, AOI Vidarbha). Dr Sonali Khadakkar conducted a quiz; Dr Kanchan Dhote and Dr Disha Methwani conducted the event.

Pondicherry

VIN ENT CME 2023

CME on the importance of voice disorders held at Vinayaka Missions Medical College, Karaikal, Pondicherry on 18 April 2023, organised by the Department of ENT.

HOD Prof. Dr Srinivasa delivered the welcome address; Prof. Dr C. Gunasekaran, Hon’ble Dean, presided. Talks included glimpses on voice disorders by Dr M.P. Kavin Kumar (Sudha Multispeciality Hospitals, Erode) and post-thyroidectomy voice rehabilitation by Dr K. Vignesh (Assistant Professor, JIPMER, Karaikal).

The CME was followed by a live demonstration of FEES (fibre-optic endoscopic evaluation of swallowing) by guest speaker Dr M.P. Kavin Kumar. Attendance reached 248, including third-year medical students and consultants from clinical and non-clinical departments.

Organised by Dr V. Srinivasa (HOD), Prof. Dr A. Ganesh Bala, Dr G. Sriram, Dr Nanditha, Dr Sandravelu, and postgraduates. Tamil Nadu Medical Council granted two credit hours for the CME.
