APSI is a professional body whose members are primarily ENT surgeons, with a special interest in voice disorders and their management. Dr. (Prof.) Phaniendra Kumar Valluri was the guiding light in its formation and founder president — with Dr. Jayakumar R Menon as founder Vice President and Dr. Kumud Kumar Handa as founder Honorary Secretary.

in 2003

Formed in November 2003 during the phonosurgery workshop held in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh — a common platform for voice care.

Creating awareness in society about voice disorders and their management — including voice care for professional voice users.

Fellowship
Training

Training budding ENT surgeons in voice pathology and phonosurgery — four centres conduct APSI-accredited fellowship programmes.

2011

The official journal — IJPL

The International Journal of Phonosurgery & Laryngology was launched in 2011, published by Jaypee Brothers with Dr. P.S.N. Murthy as the Editor-in-Chief. The biennial publication is now available online, with bibliographic listings including Index Copernicus, EBSCO and ProQuest.
